Team Leader - Conwy

Through chemical and physical analysis of oils and fuels at our state of the art laboratories, coupled with expert engineering diagnosis, we can advise on the condition of oil and machinery, help reduce downtime and improve profits for and on behalf of small, national and international companies throughout Europe and beyond.
A position has become available for a Team Leader to work within our Oil Laboratories in Conwy reporting to the Supervisor.
Key Duties/ Responsibilities:
• Check performance of equipment and conduct routine maintenance where appropriate. Report any faults and/or servicing requirements to the Supervisor, and ensure the calibration schedules are maintained.
• Liaise with clients and sales where necessary, under the direction of the managers.
• Ensure that staff within the area of responsibility, comply with the Company’s published Health and Safety Policy.
• Prioritising workloads with managers, and organising allocation of tasks within the work area.
• Performing technical and analytical procedures to the required standards and specifications.
• Supervising and approving the quality of work and data produced by technicians in the work area.
• Organising and be responsible for the maintenance of all analytical work records and filing systems specific to the work area.
• Implementing all procedures concerned with quality control and quality assurance for the work area and ensure that all staff are trained in and conform to the requirements.
• Training and supervising technicians in analytical methods and techniques.
Qualifications & Experience:
Candidates will preferably be a graduate in Chemistry although other relevant science qualifications may be considered. One year experience in an industrial laboratory environment is required. Previous people management experience would be beneficial. Applicants should be able to work to tight deadlines with a flexible approach to working hours. This role will require the job holder to take part in the rotational evening shift, and as such you must be prepared to work the night shift for one week in four.
