ALcoday June 25th: Passive Sampling
Due to the meanwhile well known and by success prolonged ALcodays we create added value for our customers. On June 25th another seminar was organized, this time with topic Passive Sampling.
Throughout the world passive sampling is a more and more used sampling method. With this method materials are used on which the to analyse components adsorbe after which the material is extracted on the laboratory, then the analysis takes place. The company Sorbisense has developed a very specific system (the SorbiCell) with which besides the presence of specific components also the concentration can be determined. With this method the SorbiCell distinguishes itself from other passive sampling systems. ALcontrol supports Sorbisense by performing many validation tests.
The ALcoday started with an introduction by John Nihot, Commercial Manager the Netherlands. After a short general introduction about legislation and the several water sampling methods by Jaap-Willem Hutter (Business Development Manager Alcontrol) it was the turn to Hubert de Jonge (Director Sorbisense). As the developer from the SorbiCell de Jonge told more about the theory behind this new inovative technique. Wim Broer (Development Chemist ALcontrol) ended the morning with a clear presentation about the possible analysis for this method, performance carateristics and the difference between results with both sampling methods.
Amongst the select group of attendees this morning the interest was high for this new sampling method and we can look back on a very successful seminar. Certain is that this interesting topic calls for a sequal in the planning for future ALcodays! After lunch the day was closed with a tour on the laboratory. As well as ALcontrol as the attendees look back on a successful seminar.
