Soil testing
ALcontrol has been at the forefront of providing accurate measurement of contaminants in soils to inform the assessment and management of risks and hazards that these contaminants may pose to the environment and human health in compliance with Part IIA of the Environmental Protection Act 1990.
Waste acceptance testing
ALcontrol offers a comprehensive range of tests that enables the determination of acceptability of waste at landfills. Our fast turnaround Waste Acceptance Criteria (WAC) testing enables our customers to meet their obligations pursuant to the Landfill Directive.
Environmental waters testing
Our analysis of environmental waters reflects all common industrial and regulatory requirements including:
• Environmental Permitting Regulations introduced from 6 April 2008
• Discharge Consents
• The Groundwater Regulations 1998
• The Dangerous Substance Directive (76/464/EEC)
Importation of soils
ALcontrol Laboratories holds a DEFRA licence for the importation of samples from abroad. With dedicated specialists we are able to assist you in scoping out your testing requirements through to sample receipt in the laboratory. We have considerable experience in importing samples from all over the world with contracts extending to Romania, Kuwait, South Africa, Congo, Turkey, Malta, Mongolia and Egypt.
Site Services
Our Site Services teams enable us to provide field chemists, environmental scientists and technicians to undertake a number of operations on site, on behalf of our customers.
We are able to offer:
• in-situ analysis and sampling
• water sampling
• soil sampling and site supervision
• this service is backed up with method statements and written factual reports.
There is added value to each project when experienced site chemists from Alcontrol Laboratories are employed on site, as this ensures good sample handling/preservation techniques and reliable coordination of samples from site to the laboratory, with full chain-of-custody documentation.
